Ronald mcdonald care mobile

In 2013, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of St. Louis partnered with the Eye Care Charity of Mid-America to provide on-the-spot eye exams and glasses to children through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.  The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which is staffed by licensed optometrists, travels to schools throughout the Greater St. Louis area, where the need for eye care is greatest due to low household income.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile enables early diagnosis and treatment, which are important for maintaining good vision, eye health and the prevention of vision loss. Children who need glasses can choose from a variety of new frames displayed in the mobile unit, and glasses are provided at point of service.

In 2014, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile visited 111 locations and provided comprehensive eye exams to over 2,000 children free of charge.   Over 1,700 children that visited the Care Mobile received a free pair of eye glasses.
