meals from the heart
Thank you for your interest in preparing a meal for our guest families!
Being able to offer a home-cooked meal or a quick snack is one of the most important ways we can provide our guest families with the comfort of home, especially after a long day at the hospital. Thanks to our Meals from the Heart Program, nightly dinners, along with breakfast on the weekends, are prepared by community groups at each of our three Ronald McDonald Houses.
Please note that the safety, health and well-being of our families have always been our highest priorities. There are several guidelines to consider before volunteering, most notably:
- Food must be prepared on-site at the Ronald McDonald House. Donations of food prepared or cooked off-site by individuals or non-licensed establishments cannot be accepted (i.e. baked goods, pre-made casseroles, etc.)
- Food prepared at a licensed retail food establishment can only be accepted if it has been protected from contamination and has been delivered directly from the licensed establishment within a short period of time.
- Only packaged foods purchased from retail grocery stores in unopened containers or whole fruits/vegetables can be accepted.
